Sebanti Maitra, Curriculum Developer & Teacher Trainer
(Honours Degree, B.Ed)
On graduating from St, Xavier’s college Kolkata with an Honours degree, Sebanti Maitra decided to pursue her love for education and went on to complete her B.Ed from Shri Shikshayatan College Kolkata. Her journey with practical teaching started at a school called Akshar where she not only made her foray into classroom teaching but also had the overwhelming opportunity of integrating children with special needs into mainstream education.
Her experience and learning at Akshar and Sishya, not only nurtured but also facilitated her passion to explore beyond the boundaries of conventional ways of teaching. It is at this point of time that she realised that the art of teaching English Language is dynamic and needs constant research. It was an exhilarating experience during which she trained herself to add value to the education system from the pre primary to the high school level.
She researched and developed Preschool Curriculum that was holistic and helped children make a smooth transition into the world of education from the cocoon of their homes. It is at this point that her metamorphosis from being a teacher to a curriculum developer began. Teacher training and mentoring became the next thing that she wanted to become adept at. She has free lanced and created preschool curriculum for many schools and have seen them bloom into state of art centres of learning.
